TASK FORCE TABANG VISAYAS is a loose coalition of 22 member civil society organizations working in partnership with the League of Municipalities in the Philippines (LMP), the Union of Local Authorities in the Philippines (ULAP), and international aid agencies for relief and medical operation, early recovery and rehabilitation programs of the earthquake and typhoon-affected municipalities in the Visayas region.
FRAMEWORK
Tabang Visayas is a venue for convergence of initiatives from the private sector, to complement the government programs and projects on relief, early recovery, and rehabilitation efforts in the communities affected by natural calamities.
Various donations received from the members of the coalition, private individuals and families; and international aid agencies are tapped for the early recovery and rehabilitation projects in typhoon-hit areas in Leyte, Samar, Cebu, Iloilo, Panay Island, Palawan, and other areas.
REBUILDING PROCESS It uses a cycle and system of learning that start from Experience leading to Theory, Application, Evaluation, Reflection and Action. It is a system wherein the trainees (Fellows) attend sessions while practical trainings and application are done in the IP communities.
Formal sessions for about 3-4 days will be done in Pamulaan for every 5 months. A mentor will be assigned to do the follow-up and monitoring the communities where the trainees/fellows will apply what they learned from the formal sessions.
