A Future Rewritten: Empowering Neglected Children Through Education and Care

As the Assisi Development Foundation (ADF) celebrates 50 years of dedicated service to Filipino society, we honor our impactful four-year partnership with Kalipay Negrense Foundation, Inc., which began in 2021.

This collaboration emerged at a critical time during the pandemic when Kalipay faced dwindling sponsorships and donations. ADF’s support ensured that Kalipay could continue its mission—welcoming abused, abandoned, and neglected children and providing them with essential care and support.

Beyond shelter, this partnership has significantly strengthened educational opportunities for Kalipay’s children, breaking the cycle of abuse and neglect. One such child is Nikky, who suffered severe physical abuse, leaving her permanently disabled. Arriving at Kalipay at 11 years old with no formal education, she is now learning to read her first words and write her name—thanks to Assisi’s unwavering support.

Nikky’s transformation exemplifies the profound impact of education and the essential role ADF has played in making it possible.

Together, Kalipay and ADF have extended their reach within marginalized communities in the Negros Island Region, offering vital resources and support to children and families in need. This partnership has strengthened both organizations, amplifying their impact on Filipino communities.
